Boost Mobile PTT service extended to Canada and South America

[Boost Mobile partners with NII Holdings and Telus Mobility to launch PTT "pay-as-you-go" service between US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Peru.]

Irvine, CA -- Boost Mobile(TM), a lifestyle-based telecommunications brand that develops and distributes wireless communications products exclusively for the youth market, in partnership with NII Holdings Inc. and Canada's TELUS Mobility, launched the international expansion of Boost(TM) Walkie-Talkie digital Push to Talk service. The exclusive pay-as-you-go service provides digital walkie-talkie connections between the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Peru.

Boost Mobile customers are charged a flat rate of $1.50 a day to use the Boost Walkie-Talkie feature with unlimited minutes anywhere in the United States. In addition, an international surcharge of $.20 a minute will apply to international Boost Walkie-Talkie use from the United States to Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Peru. An international roaming surcharge of $.10 a minute will apply to international Boost Walkie-Talkie use from Baja Mexico, and an international roaming surcharge of $.20 a minute will apply to international Boost Walkie-Talkie use from Canada.

"Boost Mobile is the only wireless service provider to offer push-to-talk technology available as an international pay-as-you-go service, making it the easiest and fastest way for young people to instantly contact friends and family across borders at the touch of a button," said Don Girskis, vice president and general manager, Boost Mobile.

Boost Walkie-Talkie international digital push-to-talk technology may be used anywhere in Boost Mobile's coverage area.

Boost Mobile customers can seamlessly send and receive walkie-talkie calls with Nextel and NII Holdings customers located in NII Holdings coverage areas. Boost Mobile customers can seamlessly send and receive walkie-talkie calls with other Boost, TELUS Mobility and Nextel customers located in TELUS Mobility's Mike network coverage areas across Canada. Boost Mobile customers can seamlessly send and receive walkie-talkie calls with TELUS Mobility Mike network and NII Holdings customers that are roaming in the United States, in addition to Boost and Nextel customers. Boost Mobile customers can seamlessly send and receive walkie-talkie calls while roaming in Baja Mexico or in TELUS Mobility's Mike network coverage areas in Canada. Additional charges may apply. Boost Mobile customers cannot roam in Peru, Argentina, Brazil or Mexico (excluding Baja, Mexico); however Boost customers can place calls to those countries.

Additionally, NII Holdings subscribers can now send and receive walkie-talkie calls with NII Holdings or Nextel subscribers in NII Holdings coverage areas in Brazil, Argentina and Peru or in Boost Mobile or Nextel coverage areas. TELUS Mobility subscribers can send and receive walkie-talkie calls with TELUS Mobility Mike, Nextel or Boost Mobile subscribers anywhere in TELUS Mobility, Nextel or Boost Mobile coverage areas.
