[SmartVideo and OlympuSAT announce partnership to deliver Hispanic, family-friendly and other diverse programming to Smartphones running Microsoft's WindowsMedia Mobile and Symbian technology.]
Atlanta -- SmartVideo Technologies, the leader in bringing national network programming to cellular Smartphones, has signed a partnership deal with digital content distributor OlympuSAT that will deliver content to the sizable but previously under-served Hispanic market and the audience seeking family-friendly alternative programming.
Under this agreement, some 50 million current mobile phone subscribers, and millions more PDA subscribers, will have access to such OlympuSAT channels as TBN, Daystar Television, Cine Mexicano, Latin TV, B Mania TV and Colours TV. In all, OlympuSAT delivers 24 channels through its Hispanic, Digital I and Faith & Families Packs. SmartVideo will begin offering the OlympuSAT channels by April 1, 2005.
OlympuSAT joins such national networks as NBC, ABC, the Weather Channel and others that have put their content on SmartVideo's service, which is available for a monthly subscription of $12.95.
SmartVideo's upcoming availability of Faith & Families channels gives a variety of programming options that will satisfy diverse family and spiritual interests. The collection of Faith and Families networks includes: TBN, America's most-watched faith channel; The Church Channel, where America turns for faith; JCTV, music television to believe in; iLife-tv, the first and only inspirational lifestyle network; INSP, the leader in Inspirational diversity; Daystar Television Network, refreshing and relevant faith-based programming; FamilyNet, family-friendly television; Three Angels Broadcasting Network, featuring quality original Christian programming; Golden Eagle Broadcasting, family safe programming 24/7; Gospel Music Television, broadcasting the most uplifting and spiritual gospel songs of all time; and BYU, Brigham Young Television.
OlympuSAT's Hispanic offerings on SmartVideo include: Cine Mexicano, a movie channel aimed at the 18-49 Hispanic demographic featuring only contemporary movies primarily from Mexico, Canal SUR, which retransmits daily newscasts from leading Latin American broadcasters; Latin TV, a new-media network targeting young bi-lingual Latinos; Puma TV, a crossover music channel featuring live VJs; TV Chile, a leading family focused entertainment channel; Nueva VidaVision, focusing on relevant programming for the Latin culture; TBN Enlace USA, featuring the best inspirational programs from Latin America and TBN; and TV Colombia, a network for the whole family from leading Colombian communication companies.
Other channels from OlympuSAT that will be available on SmartVideo: B-Mania, an ad-supported, male targeted contemporary movie network; Chronicle TV, which blends documentary and reality programming; Colours TV, focusing on the cross-cultural and urban audience; and TV Superstore, a direct-response network showcasing products from food to fitness to finance and computers.
Thanks to the successful launch of the more robust 3g networks in the U.S., SmartVideo is capable of providing 3g-capable phones with a minimum of 24 frames per second and virtual broadcast-quality of at least 28 fps on Wi-Fi-enabled devices.
