Posted: 13-Mar-2005 [Source: BelAir]

[BelAir offers up free WiFi at Jackson Square in the French Quarter during CTIA along with coupons for free coffee and beignets at the Cafe du Monde across from Jackson Square and at a second location in Riverwalk Mall.]

New Orleans -- BelAir Networks, the first company to offer scalable wide-area wireless broadband solutions for metro-scale deployments, will showcase the full functionality of its products with voice, video and data over Wi-Fi demonstrations during this year's CTIA Wireless 2005 show in New Orleans, March 14-16.

BelAir will demonstrate its industry-leading wireless multi-service switch routers in the Canadian Pavilion and at Jackson Square in the French Quarter. The Jackson Square network will highlight the capabilities of BelAir's high performance multiple point-to-point mesh. The demo will stream video images from the Cafe du Monde to the BelAir booth. Attendees will be able to access the Internet for web surfing, email, and VPN access around Jackson Square. Network access is being offered with a free coffee and order of beignets at the Cafe du Monde across from Jackson Square. BelAir will also provide network access at a second Cafe du Monde location in the Riverwalk Mall next to the convention center. Coupons for coffee and beignets at either Cafe du Monde location are available to CTIA attendees at the BelAir booth starting Monday, March 14, 2005.

About the BelAir Product Family Today

The BelAir200 is a four-radio, wireless multi-service switch router that is built specifically for outdoor deployments. Each BelAir200 includes an access radio module that uses the 2.4 GHz band to support Wi-Fi client access. The access radio is connected to integrated antennas that project Wi-Fi signals over wide open areas and directly into multi-story buildings from the outside.

Every BelAir200 can also be configured with up to three separate 5 GHz backhaul radio modules. These radios and their associated antennas are used to connect multiple BelAir200 systems in a wireless backhaul mesh that takes client traffic to and from the Internet. The resulting system delivers unmatched capacity, security and scalability for large-scale wireless applications.

The complete system is packaged in a small, environmentally-hardened enclosure designed to be mounted directly on light poles in parking lots or on city streets.

The BelAir100 is a two-radio, wireless multi-service node that accepts the same radio modules as the BelAir200. It can be used to terminate a BelAir mesh, as a mesh edge node, or to provide wireless broadband access to single buildings.
