Scarborough, ON -- TELUS Mobility and Motorola Canada today announced the availability of the multimedia-enabled Motorola i860, the first of several new Mike phones that allow users to send picture messages, contacts and other data at the press of a button. Operating on TELUS Mobility's Mike network, the Motorola i860 extends the power of "Push To" from Mike's instant voice contact into instant multimedia messaging.

In addition to Direct Connect - the Mike PTT voice service that allows clients to speak instantly with millions of other PTT users across Canada, the United States, Mexico and South America - the Motorola i860 features three new "Push To" innovations:

-Push To View Picture Messaging lets clients instantly send images from their phone to other Push To capable handsets via the PTT button. -Push To Send Contacts allows clients to instantly send their stored contact information, including names, phone numbers and e-mail addresses. -Push To Send My Info lets clients instantly send their own information or a virtual business card to colleagues and friends.

The Motorola i860 even includes a unique "Push To Open" button that offers one-handed operation of the flip-style phone by mechanically opening the flip when pressed.

Other features of the Motorola i860 include:

-Larger external and internal colour screens display text and pictures in vibrant colour. -Integrated camera with 4x digital zoom, a self-timer and a short range LED spotlight for improved close-ups, up to 10 seconds of video capture, and Picture Caller ID, which allows clients to view stored pictures of colleagues, friends or family when they call. -25 MB of memory to store pictures, videos, messages, ringtones, voice recordings, wallpaper designs, and Java applications. -Pre-installed Picture Editor Java(TM) application to facilitate editing, cropping, and customization of digital photos. -Integrated message centre to store all incoming and outgoing messages in one location -Over the air downloads to easily access the latest true tones, games and java applications -Openwave 7.X Internet microbrowser to let users browse graphic-rich Internet and other HTML sites.

The Motorola i860 is now available at TELUS Mobility retail locations across Canada for as low as $149.99 on a three-year contract or $349.99 without a contract.

Two other Mike handsets with advanced Push To functionalities will also soon be available from TELUS Mobility. The Motorola i760 is a compact Java and GPS-enabled flip phone with a high-resolution colour screen; while the ruggedized Motorola i560, which features Push To Send services only, features a durable rubber overmold for heavy-duty users.
