Schaumburg, IL -- Motorola has announced that Universal Music Group (UMG) is the first music company to make its extensive catalog available on its yet to be launched iRadio(R) service.
iRadio will offer hundreds of channels of commercial-free music and talk stations, pre-programmed and ready to rock. It will also empower consumers to create their very own channels from their personal music collection.
The service uses a high-speed Internet connection, Bluetooth technology, and a mobile phone to offer listeners a continuous entertainment experience that moves from the living room, to the car stereo, to anywhere a consumer brings their mobile phone.
Through UMG, music lovers will be now able to enjoy and discover great songs from the company's chart-topping artists and the most extensive digital catalog in the world. There are thousands of emerging and established artists to discover, including U2, Kanye West, Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Eminem, Shania Twain, The Game, The Killers, Mariah Carey and many more.
Motorola iRadio is expected to launch during Q1 2006.
