CTIA, Las Vegas -- eMbience broght its media content delivery platform, eMp2, to CTIA and demonstrated its capabilty to distribute video over wireless local area networks (LAN) using prototype Wi-Fi/CDMA handsets from Kyocera Wireless.
eMp2 bridges the delivery of any form of media content with the latest in wireless technology. Kyocera's prototype CDMA/Wi-Fi device required a solution that captures and delivers video content over wireless LANs, replacing the more traditional OTA (over-the-air) method, resulting in a superior user experience. The eMbience platform will stream and download full videos, movie trailers and songs on the prototype Kyocera handsets.
eMp2 is a full-service, turnkey application build, management and rich-media content delivery platform. From ringtones and wallpaper to music and video, animation, events, text, and blogs, partners can draw from a vast library of components, services, and content streams to shape, manage and deliver their content and brand. eMp2 transforms all partner content to the appropriate platform, BREW, J2ME, WAP or SMS, across more than 300 devices on both CDMA and GSM carriers.
"Gone are the days when downloading a video on the mobile phone takes as long as playing the video itself," said eMbience CEO, Dr. Nimish Shrivastava.
eMp2 was designed to put eMbience partners in the driver's seat. Through eMp2, partners have the tools and control to change the look and feel of the multimedia content presentation at any time once all content assets are in place. Partners can modify the design at the appropriate time to reflect a new identity.
