Tokyo & Trevose, PA -- Novatec Corporation, a Japan-based provider of network solutions, and WorldGate Communications, Inc. today announced they have entered into an agreement for Novatec to distribute and resell WorldGate's line of Ojo video phones in Japan. The agreement will allow Novatec to provide its customers with comprehensive, all-inclusive network solutions, especially in conjunction with its IP-PBX products.
Novatec recently participated in Interop Tokyo 2006 this past June where they exhibited Ojo for the first time. "The interest in Ojo was enthusiastic and we are very anxious to follow up with our customers to bring them this very attractive product to further utilize the capabilities of their networks," said Ichiro Saji, President and CEO of Novatec. "With our network solutions and our IP-PBX products, we expect to capitalize further on the interest we began to generate at Interop Tokyo and be the first to bring Ojo to the Japanese market," he added.
Novatec, as the leading Solution integrator in Japan, provides various network and VoIP solutions such as VoIP Gateways and IP-PBX products. Ojo has been working with a variety of companies around the world to make these digital voice services attractive to customers by adding the special nature of video communication to differentiate from traditional telephone services.
"This is a very proud moment for us at WorldGate to partner with such a respected company in Japan, which is at the forefront of the telecommunications revolution. Japan has been a key objective for us since the beginning of Ojo, and we are very happy to have attracted Novatec to work with us to bring Ojo to this progressive country," said Hal Krisbergh, Chairman and CEO, WorldGate.
The companies are working with customers, and shipments will begin deployment this month. Targets include telephone companies and VoIP providers as well as businesses and Internet Service Providers.
