T-Mobile and Sony VAIO jointly offer HSDPA connectivity in Europe

[T-Mobile and Sony VAIO announce new joint effort featuring an express card interface to T-Mobile's HSDPA network on new Sony VAIO's. Offer due in Germany, Austria and the UK.]

T-Mobile and Sony VAIO have agreed on close cooperation in select European countries. The first joint offering announced today includes Sony VAIO laptops featuring an express cad interface to T-Mobile's second-generation HSDPA technology for surfing and file downloading at up to 3.6 megabits per second.

Web'n'walk, the highspeed internet access by T-Mobile, enabled by the second expansion phase of HSDPA technology (HSDPA, Highspeed Downlink Packet Access), doubles the maximum HSDPA data-transmission rate from the current 1.8 megabits per second to 3.6 megabits per second.
