San Diego -- According to recently released mobile phone market share data from Strategy Analytic's Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A., Inc. (LG Mobile Phones) has secured the number two ranking for sales of mobile phones in the United States in Q3 2006, shipping 7 million handsets for the quarter.
In addition to increasing shipment market share in the North America to 17.2% in all technologies, LG increased its dominance in the global handset market, once again securing the number one spot for global CDMA sales for the quarter. Global CDMA sales for LG were 10.5 million units vaulting LG to 23.5% market share worldwide.

Highly successful LG models launched in Q3 2006 include the stylish Chocolate by LG and LG FUSIC music phones as well as the speedy LG CU500 world capable HSDPA handset and the LG VX8300.
