ACCESS Linux Platform - ACCESS Linux Platform is the industry's first truly integrated, commercial grade Linux-based platform designed for mobile phones and devices. The ACCESS Linux Platform includes a Palm OS compatibility layer, currently known as GHost (Garnet Host). ACCESS has publicly demonstrated that most properly written 68K-based Palm OS applications will run on ACCESS Linux Platform-based devices with little or no modification. Also included in ACCESS Linux Platform is the Hiker Application Framework, the industry's first open source, mobile Linux application framework for commercial use. Released under the MPL v1.1 license, the Hiker Application Framework integrates communication between applications, enabling a seamless user experience for music, messaging and other advanced features. The Hiker Application Framework also provides services needed for commercial products, including security and application management.
* ACCESS NetFront Browser - The ACCESS NetFront Browser is the world's leading browser with exceptional performance for devices with limited hardware resources, such as memory and CPU (Central Processing Unit). The ACCESS NetFront Browser, deployed in wide range of products by global information technology and consumer electronics manufacturers, is platform agnostic. The high modularity, flexibility and scalability of the ACCESS NetFront Browser have made it the de facto standard. The ACCESS NetFront Browser provides full Internet browsing from more than commercial devices including PDAs and smartphones. There are currently million NetFront Browser deployments around the world.
*ACCESS Linux Platform PDK - The ACCESS Linux Platform v 1.0 PDK is now available to licensees. The PDK includes all the necessary components, tools, samples and documentation to develop customized mobile devices based on the ACCESS Linux Platform software including: All platform components (including a Linux reference kernel), Reference drivers and development kit, Application development kit, A complete Eclipse-based set of development tools, Documentation.
The ACCESS Developer Network has released the ACCESS Linux Platform Development Suite (SDK & Tools) to a number of independent developers participating in the ACCESS Developer Network Early ACCESS Program. The Early ACCESS Program gives qualified third party developers access to pre-release technical and market development resources to accelerate innovation on ACCESS Linux Platform.
At the 3GSM World Congress, ACCESS is demonstrating results from the Early ACCESS program--the first native ACCESS Linux Platform applications, Bejeweled and Solitaire from Astraware, a leading developer of mobile games. The Company will also publicly demonstrate a number of currently available ACCESS Garnet OS-based (Palm OS Garnet) applications running on the ACCESS Linux Platform transparently via the ACCESS Garnet VM.
ACCESS is also demontrating its platform running on TI's OMAP platform, including the OMAP3430 showcasing the scalable, ultra low power and high performance of the OMAP processor and the open, flexible and customizable architecture of the ACCESS Linux Platform software. The OMAP3430 multimedia applications processor, the first member of TI's OMAP 3 architecture is designed to enable laptop-like productivity and advanced entertainment in 3G handsets. The industry's first application processor to be designed in a 65-nanometer (nm) CMOS process, the OMAP3430 operates at a higher frequency than previous generation OMAP processors while lowering the core voltage and adding power reduction features.
The Marvell and ACCESS demonstration highlights the performance and cost optimization for high volume handheld devices enabled by the combination of the Marvell PXA320 (Monahan-P) and ACCESS Linux Platform.
The Marvell PXA3xx family of application processors (internally named Monahans) based on third generation of Intel XScale technology was designed for cost efficiency by offering a broad roadmap that is architecturally consistent for maximum software re-use.
