Las Vegas -- Microsoft officials have announced plans to expand its mobile sector by selling 20 million Windows Mobile 6 units in 2008. During the announcement, which came during the 2007 Mobile and Embedded Devices Conference in Las Vegas, Microsoft officials also discussed the expansion of their Windows Mobile license agreements. Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division President Robbie Bach reports the number of Windows Mobile based phone licenses grew by more than 40 percent in 2006. As a result of this statistic, Bach says Microsoft is the fastest-growing phone operating system on the market. Windows Mobile was initially launched in 2003.
