Little Rock, AR -- Whether a child is at school, a park or a friend;s house, parents are comforted to know where their kids are throughout the day. Alltel Wireless, America's largest wireless network, today announced the launch of Axcess Family Finder, a service that enables parents to determine the location of their child's Axcess Family Finder-capable phone from the Web or their mobile phone.

Axcess Family Finder features easy-to-use interactive maps to monitor or guide family members to specific locations. The service also allows parents to identify specific areas that their children frequent, including movie theaters and parks, by using the Axcess Family Finder Web site, www.alltel.com/familyfinder.

The Axcess Family Finder Web site also supports added security measures with Scheduled Checks which allows parents to register specific locations to be tracked during certain times. GPS technology is used to locate the child's phone, and the parents' phones can receive a text message automatically notifying them of the child's location.

"Axcess Family Finder provides parents with the comfort of knowing the location of their children," said Scott Moody, director of multi-media content for Alltel Wireless. "Alltel Wireless believes it is important to keep families connected and safe with the latest technologies and applications available."

A security solution requiring a username and password is integrated into the application in order to access and edit settings. Axcess Family Finder requires a "child" phone, which must be Axcess Family Finder-capable; these include the LG AX8600, Samsung U520, and the Samsung R510 "Wafer." Parents can view a child's location from the Web on a personal computer or from a mobile phone with Web capabilities.

The service, developed for Alltel by WaveMarket Inc., is available for $9.99 a month per child application. Customers can receive more information as well as download the application directly through their phones by visiting www.alltel.com/familyfinder. Users can register up to 10 phones and receive unlimited phone location information. Normal airtime charges apply.

Customers who sign up for Axcess Family Finder and are on a qualifying calling plan can also receive "My Circle," Alltel's exclusive feature that allows customers to choose who they call for free -- any 10 numbers, any network. Alltel Wireless also offers Anytime Plan Changes that give customers the flexibility to change their rate plan any time, without extending their contract, and Celltop, an exclusive, patent-pending technology that offers customers an easier way to access, manage and organize a wide range of information already available on their phones.
