Paris -- DiBcom, the leading provider of Mobile TV solutions, is pleased to announce that its state-of-the-art chipset, the DIB9080-H which includes a tuner and demodulator, is being used by Huawei for its new HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access) card called E510.

The Huawei E510, a highly innovative device, is the first wireless datacard that adds a DVB-T based Mobile TV functionality which can be used free on any notebook throughout Europe and in parts of Asia. On the wireless side, the E510 supports the full gamut of wireless standards from GSM/GPRS/EDGE (in 900/1800/1900MHz) to HSPA/UMTS (in receiver diversity at 2100/900MHz). The card is based on a 3.5G HSPA modem allowing very fast data transfer rates (7.2Mbps HSDPA and 2Mbps HSUPA) to combine the advantages of mobile communication and broadband service and to meet the requirements of high-speed Internet access. It supports Windows XP/Vista through Plug-&-Play.

Mobile TV is available thanks to the integration of DiBcom's DIB9080-H, a high performance, low power receiver. The DIB9080-H includes both a tri-band RF tuner and a demodulator in one very small chip. It supports both DVB-T and DVB-H standards, making it the ideal choice for Huawei, a world leading mobile communication equipment supplier.

DiBcom's high performance Mobile TV technology combined with Huawei's innovative HSPA solution offers wireless operators a value loaded datacard to expand their reach beyond mobile phones and to the PC. This is the first combo-card HSPA/DVB-T that not only enhances the user experience for broadband services but also enables access to Free-to-Air digital TV services.

"We are very proud that Huawei, one of the foremost providers of wireless solutions, has opted to use our technology in the conception of a product that combines broadcast TV reception and 3.5G mobile communication and media streaming. This is a perfect example of integration work that allows end-users to enjoy mobile broadband and broadcast services anytime and anywhere - a new success for DVB-T reception in the PC world," concluded Yannick Lovy, CEO of DiBcom.
