Boost Mobile Drops Price of 'UNLTD By Boost' Posted: 14-Jul-2009 [Source: Boost Mobile] [Existing customers on the UNLTD $50 Unlimited Talk, $60 Unlimited Talk & Text or $70 Unlimited Talk, Text & Web plans will be automatically switched to the new $50 per month rate while receiving all the benefits of unlimited nationwide talk, text and Web.] Irvine, CA -- Boost Mobile announced that effective today, all existing and new ‘UNLTD By Boost’ customers of the regionally available wireless service operating on Sprint’s CDMA network who are paying more than $50 per month will be rewarded with a price drop of up to $20 per month or see greater value added to their plan with a bundled combination of nationwide talk, text and Web for $50 per month plus applicable taxes and fees. What’s more, home calling areas have been eliminated and customers may now make and receive calls anywhere on the Sprint nationwide CDMA network without incurring a roaming charge of 15 cents per minute.“Our primary focus is to grow Boost Mobile on the Nextel National Network,” said Matt Carter, President of Boost Mobile. “However, we haven’t forgotten about our valued UNLTD By Boost customers on the CDMA network. We’ve simplified our portfolio, which allows us to continually serve each and every one of our customers with one of the best values in the industry.” Existing customers on the UNLTD $50 Unlimited Talk, $60 Unlimited Talk & Text or $70 Unlimited Talk, Text & Web plans will be automatically switched to the new $50 per month rate while receiving all the benefits of unlimited nationwide talk, text and Web. In addition, long-time customers on our original UNLTD $35 Unlimited Talk, $40 Unlimited Talk & Text or $45 Unlimited Talk, Text & Web plans will remain at their current price point. The UNLTD offer is in the following 13 states: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. With a new simplified price point for UNLTD users, Boost Mobile is aiming for price parity between its existing offers for unlimited nationwide talk, text and Web. For customers on the ‘Monthly Unlimited’ plan launched in January, which operates on the Nextel (iDEN) network, $50 per month also includes America’s fastest nationwide walkie-talkie technology*. Although the $50 monthly charge for the CDMA UNLTD offering will be aligned with the iDEN Monthly Unlimited offering, there are a few items that will remain unchanged. Unlike Monthly Unlimited, UNLTD customers will continue to pay taxes in addition to their Monthly Recurring Plan Amount and a convenience fee will continue to be charged to customers when replenishing in-store. Finally, new UNLTD customers will no longer be offered the first month of service free. “The current configuration of our UNLTD billing system prevents complete parity with the Monthly Unlimited offer, but these measures are a step in the right direction,” said Carter.
