Minneapolis -- Best Buy confirmed that the company will launch a Best Buy branded mobile broadband Internet service called Best Buy Connect on July 11. Best Buy Connect is a mobile broadband service offering that differs from traditional mobile broadband offerings by addressing some of the irritations people typically face in mobile networking. It is designed to give consumers more flexibility, freedom, convenience and support. With Sprint providing the underlying 3G network, plans will be available with and without contracts, starting at $29.99 for 250 megabytes. “We are building on a great brand and foundation to enable people to rely on us for one-stop shopping and support for their mobile computing experience, and our customer support continues after purchase,” said Jed Stillman, vice president of Best Buy Connect. “It is a natural addition to Best Buy’s growing portfolio of private label products and services that better enable consumers to connect with the things and people they love.” Best Buy Connect promises several customer service advantages, chief among them: ·One-stop shopping and selection. When customers leave a Best Buy store, their connection will be activated on the laptop or netbook they’ve chosen from Best Buy’s broad selection. Complete after-sales support that’s convenient and easy, with just one place to go whether it’s a hardware, software, service or billing problem.

·A trusted human connection through it all – from Best Buy Blue Shirts in-store to Geek Squad after-sales support – and all from Best Buy.

·Customer rewards through the Best Buy Reward Zone loyalty program. Customers will receive credit for their mobile broadband service in addition to their in-store purchases. Best Buy Connect joins a growing portfolio of exclusive branded content, connections and services that deliver the advantages of what the company calls the “digitally connected world” easily and seamlessly to consumers. Customers who purchase selected Gobi™-embedded laptops or netbooks from most Best Buy stores in the U.S. will have an opportunity to subscribe to Best Buy Connect beginning July 11.
