[payLo designed for the 'voice-centric' consumer is a $0 a month plan that includes 1,500 anytime minutes of talk, 500 messages and 10MB of Web access.]

Warren, NJ -- Continuing to offer affordable alternatives to long-term wireless contracts for cell phone users seeking more basic service, payLo™ by Virgin Mobile today announced a 1,500-minute plan for $30. The plan gives customers 1,500 anytime minutes of talk, 500 messages and 10MB of Web access. Specifically tailored to meet the needs of the voice-centric customer who does not necessarily need ‘unlimited service,’ the 1,500-minute plan is available today at www.virginmobileusa.com and soon with retailers.

Rounding out its simple and easy portfolio, the addition of the plan provides customers three straight-forward plan options:

* $30/1,500-minute1/expires in one month/also includes:

o 500 messages (text, picture messages, e-mail and IM)

o 10MB Web access

* $20/400-minute1/expires in one month

* Basic Rate 20-cents per minute/expires in 90 days

“There are still a sizable number of customers in the market for voice-led, value-oriented plans that include access to text and data,” said Bob Stohrer, vice president-Marketing, Virgin Mobile USA. “payLo is now providing great value at affordable price points without forcing customers to buy more than they need. payLo plays an important role within our overall portfolio of brands and further solidifies our leadership position across a wide range of offer types."

According to second quarter 2010 Nielsen data2, customers paying by the minute [or on daily or annual plans with limited minutes] make up 60 percent of the prepaid market. This new 1,500-minute offer, and payLo’s existing 400-minute plan, taps into another segment – monthly plans with minutes included – which represents an additional 16 percent of prepaid customers.

New Handset

To make it even easier to talk and text, payLo has added the Kyocera S2300 messaging phone to its lineup of handsets. The S2300 is a candybar-style phone with a vibrant 2.2-inch color display sitting above a full QWERTY keypad that is ideal for texting, e-mailing and Instant Messaging (IM). It also features a 1.3-megapixel camera and Bluetooth® 2.1 technology. Retailing at $69.99 (excluding taxes), the handset will be available at select independent Virgin Mobile retailers later this month.

With payLo by Virgin Mobile, there are no activation or termination fees and no long-term contracts. Adding to a monthly balance is simple with Virgin Mobile or payLo Top-up cards, or with a credit/debit card or PayPal account online at www.virginmobileusa.com. payLo by Virgin Mobile offers $10, $20 or $30 Top-Up cards (prices exclude taxes and fees), which can be used to purchase monthly service and additional items, such as text messaging, Web access, ringtones and downloads. Top-Up cards can be purchased at thousands of retail stores nationwide.
