Allwinner A20 Changes Mobile Market with Twin Cortex-A7 Core Processor

Zhuhai, China -- Allwinner Technology, a worldwide leader in mobile application processor design, today announced that its customers have started shipping products featuring the A20: the world's first dual-core ARM® Cortex®-A7 SoC.

Allwinner's A20 chipset efficiently balances a high performance, dual-core ARM® Mali400MP2 GPU together with an energy efficient, dual-core ARM® Cortex®-A7 CPU. This architecture can deliver 5x energy efficiency, 50 percent greater performance, and is 1/5th the size of ARM's previous Cortex®-A8 architecture. In short, A20's balanced CPU/GPU combo speeds up demanding applications like web-browsing, streaming video, and 2D/3D gaming while optimizing battery life for users.

Brilliant HD Video Experience

Users demand high resolution display and video from their products. Dual-core A20-based products enable dazzling video playback at 2160p and crystal clear 1080p or 720p video capture.

High Integration

Consistent with Allwinner's other application processors, the A20 integrates key functions on-chip in order to simplify system design, speed up time to market, and reduce overall system BOM cost. LVDS, HDMI, and TV decoding are all integrated on one chip, making peripheral connections simple and less costly.

In addition, the A20 is pin-to-pin compatible with Allwinner's previous A10 chipset, simplifying the solution design even further.
