Dublin -- Openmind Networks, the leading provider of dedicated communication solutions to the global telecoms industry, today announced it has opened its core mobile communications platform to the Industry, enabling third party Developers to create and launch a range of Apps, across multiple access devices.

The Openmind API is based on their adaptable, modular and consolidated mobile communications platform, which is already powering 1 Billion messages, daily all over the globe. This API enables App developers access a Telco-grade, scalable, robust platform for the development of corporate and enterprise Apps, leveraging a suite of functionality including; SMS Inbox, IP messaging, RCS, location-sharing, VoIP, Presence and WebRTC. Openmind is the first competitor in its market to offer dedicated solutions across the full breadth of the Telco industry, and is now the first company to offer third party developers the ability to leverage this richness of functionality.

This platform already has a range of native Apps built upon it, including the Tablet and Web Messaging App; Dinamotxt, a family-locator App; FamFinder and an enterprise focused communication App; Bugle. These Apps are recent additions to the platform which is already used by Mobile Operators, Inter-Carrier Operators and IP Telecom Players.

CEO, Alex Duncan commented, “At its core, Openmind's platform enables adaptability to a variety of users. The addition of the API offers software developers the ability to tap into telecoms functionality in a way that was impossible before, for example, creating a central cloud storage of messages for corporate users, or harnessing Text Messaging interactions between a sales force and its customers for a more complete view of outreach to customers. The possibilities are endless. We offer VoIP capabilities, RCS, WebRTC, location sharing, billing etc allowing App developers to think and create new apps that before were only dreamt about. These Apps can be built on a solid, proven, telco-grade platform, allowing them to launch and scale Apps fast. Our platform bridges the Telecoms and IP world".

Openmind Networks, a company with more than a decade of experience delivering communication solutions to the telco industry. The company was founded in 2003 when founders Alex Duncan and Brian Kelly left behind the world’s leading SMS vendor at the time and created a company which now powers over 1 Billion SMS messages every day, with over 120 installs worldwide. Uniquely, Openmind now provides dedicated messaging services to all consumers of Messaging solutions – Inter-Carriers, Mobile Operators and IP Telecom Players. The platform offers native Consumer Apps, available in the Play Store, such as Dinamotxt. An open Network API enables third party developers to create a range of Apps using this same technology.
