"KTF launched November 9 a multimedia wireless internet service in icon-mode, "Magic n Multi-pack service," for the first time in the world.

"The launch of this service will herald the shift of domestic wireless Internet market from text and simple images to color/sound/graphic/moving images based on icons," said a KTF spokesman. "This is similar to the transition process of the PC operating system from DOS to Windows."

"The application software download function, which is the key function of this service, supports users selectively downloading and taking advantage of the preferred contents, KTF said. Also the downloading and running speed is outstandingly faster compared to other platforms (java etc.) that offer optimum service for multimedia contents, it said.

"Hence, easier access to wireless Internet for general users and upgraded wireless Internet environment and service are expected to promote the use of wireless Internet," the company said.
