[The "Moppet" ISDN fixed-line phone launched which can communicate with FOMA's video-based phone.]

Tokyo -- "Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corp. and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corp. on Nov. 30 launched sales of ISDN video telephones called "Moppet," which can communicate with video phones for the FOMA service.

"FOMA is NTT DoCoMo Inc.'s new third-generation mobile phone service.

"This is the first fixed-line telephone product in the world that can link with a FOMA-based videophone. The product is on sale for 98,000 yen. The two companies expect to sell 40,000 units in the initial year all through Japan. (122.88 yen = US$1)
