Hynix Enters Bluetooth Chip Market

by Kim Sung-jin -- Hynix Semiconductor is planning to enter the Bluetooth chip market by next June.

Hynix said yesterday that it has successfully developed its first Bluetooth embedded flash baseband chip BlueWave TM 1. The chipmaker said it is a type of non-memory system on chip (SoC) that has embedded flash memory into the baseband chip, as well as many other Bluetooth application functions.

Baseband is a transmission medium through which digital signals are sent without frequency fluctuations. It is a one of the core elements to Bluetooth technology.
