[Siemens ICM Group receives order worth 14 million EUR to provide hardware and software components for Satelindo's GSM 900/1800 mobile network in Indonesia.]

Munich -- The Indonesian mobile operator Satelindo has selected the Siemens Information and Communication Mobile Group (Siemens mobile) to supply its Intelligent Networks technology. The project has an order volume of about 14 million EUR and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2002. Under this contract Siemens mobile is integrating all the hardware and software components required for deployment and administration of Intelligent Networks services (IN) in Satelindo's GSM 900/1800 mobile network. Essential parts of the IN solution are the technology platforms Prepaid@vantage and Payment@vantage. On the one hand, this will enable Satelindo to administer prepaid customers more efficiently and, on the other, to offer a number of additional new services, such as immediate payment of goods purchased online via mobile phone (Mobile Payment) or mobile banking services (Mobile Banking).

Siemens mobile has been working with Satelindo in Indonesia as a supplier of GSM mobile technology since 1994. At the end of 2001 Satelindo also selected Siemens mobile as its supplier for GPRS network technology (General Packet Radio Service). With more than 2.6 million customers, Satelindo is currently the second largest mobile operator in the country. By the end of 2002 Satelindo is targeting 3 million customers throughout the country. Satelindo is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Indonesian telecommunications concern PT Indosat.

More than 740 million users are making GSM the world's most successful mobile telephony standard. With currently more than 180 international customers in over 90 countries, Siemens mobile is the number three system supplier for GSM mobile networks and is the market leader as a supplier for prepaid technology.
