[Verizon launches tri-mode 1XRETT capable CDM-9500 mobile phone manufactured by Audiovox/Toshiba.]

Bedminster, NJ -- Just as holiday shopping moves into high gear, Verizon Wireless customers will want to "Get It Now" with the new full-color Verizon Wireless CDM-9500 wireless phone. The tri-mode, 1XRTT capable CDM-9500 will be marketed as Verizon Wireless and manufactured by Audiovox Communications Corp./Toshiba. It supports Verizon Wireless' high-speed wireless data services and its Get It Now(sm) service for downloadable games, photo albums, ring tones and other advanced, customized wireless offerings. The sporty, Web-enabled, clamshell-style handset also boasts dual-screens -- a large, nine-line 65k color LCD inside and a two-line LCD screen outside that shows instant information like caller ID.

Lightweight -- just 3.8 oz -- and easy to use, the CDM-9500 is equipped with location-based positioning technology, a two-way speakerphone and two-way text messaging. With the CDM-9500 and a Mobile Office connectivity kit and laptop or PDA, customers can also have access to the Express Networksm -Verizon Wireless' high-speed wireless data network service available in more than 900 cities across the U.S. On the Express Network, Verizon Wireless customers can communicate with customers, co-workers, friends and family using e-mail; they can surf the Web and have access to their corporate intranet - all at speeds of 40 to 60 kilobits per second, similar to or better than a home dial-up PC connection.

Get It Now is Verizon Wireless' latest service offering that turns a wireless phone into a lifestyle companion. Among the applications customers can download to their phone are:

Get Games -Casino, Baseball, Diamond Mine, Glider Action and Football, among others; Get Tones - From classical to pop, downloadable ring tones make the CDM-9500 really rock; Get Going - Personalized directories and real-time information such as, current airport and flight information, and Forbes.com for financial information; Get Pix - View and share digital photos wirelessly; Get Fun - Horoscopes, trivia and a whole lot more instantly on the CDM-9500 handset. Verizon Wireless is introducing the CDM-9500 at a retail price of $249.99 with a two-year service contract and a $100 rebate through Jan. 1 when customers mail in a working wireless phone and proof of purchase documents. Customers can purchase the phone at any one of the 1,300 Verizon Wireless Communications Stores or online at www.verizonwireless.com Verizon Wireless customers who upgrade their wireless phone to the new Verizon Wireless CDM9500 are encouraged to participate in its exclusive HopeLineSM phone recycling program. The national HopeLine program distributes previously owned wireless phones to victims of domestic violence, supports non-profit domestic violence advocacy groups and provides an environmentally safe method of recycling phones.
