By Lena Lee, Beijing -- "China Netcom Group has launched interprovincial short messaging services in the country's north for the limited-mobility wireless phone service, Little Smart, state media reported.

Subscribers to the discount service, also known as Xiaolingtong, will be able to engage in wireless browsing, send e-mails and receive data via their handsets, the official Xinhua News Agency said."
