Oslo, Norway and Waterloo, Ontario -- Opera Software and SlipStream Data today announced the integration of the Opera browser with SlipStream's Web and e-mail acceleration technology. The integrated solution enables ISPs to offer up to six times faster browsing on dial-up and wireless connections, as well as provides fast and secure access to critical data for mobile workers and organizations with limited bandwidth.

Opera's browser integration with the SlipStream software is with its yet-to-debut version, 7.60. Opera 7.60 is set to usher in more innovative browsing features in keeping with Opera's tradition of revolutionizing the user experience while sustaining it as an easy-to-use Internet power tool. Users get all the functionality of Opera's Web browser and built-in e-mail and chat clients in one speedy solution. The public release of v7.60 is slated for the end of 2004.

"As Opera is known as the fastest browser on earth, the decision to consider the browser for this integration was simple," says Ron Neumann, President, SlipStream Data. "Our goal is to offer a superior accelerated browsing experience on any platform and Opera's multiplatform support helps achieve this. This integration gives ISPs increased support and speed for their users, and will also significantly increase the productivity of mobile workers. Such a partnership helps us continue to expand and embed our technology into new markets."

SlipStream is the defacto standard in the accelerated dial-up market, with over 900 ISP Partners worldwide. The company's sophisticated acceleration technologies compress, optimize, and streamline Web content and e-mails, providing a dramatic improvement in access speeds over any network. SlipStream SP gives service providers a fast and flexible way of rolling out value-added services that ultimately reduce subscriber churn by offering a more fulfilling online experience. SlipStream SE (Secure Enterprise) optimizes bandwidth and improves the performance of Web-based applications, accelerating secure access to emails, FTP and other critical business data.

"SlipStream is the dominant acceleration solution provider for ISPs in North America, South America, and Europe," says Jon S. von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. "Their innovation and reputation for service makes them an ideal partner. We are eager to work together to deliver an improved experience in installation, operation, and support to enterprises and users wanting more Web speed and performance."
