[Swiss company Esmertec and MontaVista Software of California are teaming up to provide a Java-Linux software open platform solution for mobile phones.]
Duebendorf,-Zurich, Switzerland and Sunnyvale, Calif. -- Esmertec and MontaVista Software have entered into a strategic alliance to provide Java-Linux software platform solutions for mobile phones.
Esmertec's Jbed(TM) Advanced multitasking J2ME-platform atop MontaVista Linux Consumer Electronics Edition, delivers a fully optimized, open, reliable and interoperable solution for mobile handset and wireless semiconductor vendors.
"The integration of MontaVista's premier embedded Linux operating system and Esmertec's high-performance Java platforms provides a scalable solution, that delivers highly customizable features and rich user experiences," said Christophe Francois, Senior Vice President, Strategic Marketing, Esmertec. "This will enable device manufacturers, operators and application providers to further accelerate market growth for consumer multimedia services."
