[NetHawk's new 3G Analyser supports the 3GPP Release 5 2004-06 baseline for commercial HSDPA networks.]
One of the main factors of true wireless broadband services, the High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) in 3G networks, is getting to trial and deployment phase. In order for the network vendors and operators to be able to deploy the new functionality smoothly, NetHawk introduces powerful HSDPA testing capabilities to its 3G protocol testing tools. The new version of the NetHawk 3G Analyser is currently the only testing
tool on the market supporting the 3GPP Release 5 2004-06 baseline to be used in commercial HSDPA networks. With this tool, the user can easily get a detailed view on the realtime network performance, as well as evaluate the QoS in the network with the help of throughput measurement for the HSDPA calls.
Another major new feature in the NetHawk 3G Analyser is the Radio Optimisation Measurements (ROM) application, helping the user in the optimisation and troubleshooting of the 3G radio interfaces. In 3G networks, a new and more diverse set of parameters needs to be analysed for the user to be able to measure the radio interface quality and interference, as well as to evaluate power control functions and balance uplink and downlink directions of the link. The NetHawk 3G Analyser's ROM option speeds up the radio network optimisation by providing the user with an
illustrative, graphical real-time view to the most important radio interface parameters.
