Telenor's mobile customers in the consumer market are now offered price reductions worth an estimated NOK 200 million. In addition to a 50 per cent reduction on domestic mobile rates twelve hours a day on weekdays, and twenty-four hours a day during the weekends, Telenor also offers a number of other mobile services at reduced rates in the summer months.
During the summer months, close to 500,000 Norwegians are likely to exchange their old mobile handsets with new models. The summer is also by far the busiest time of the year, when Norwegians make the most frequent calls and send the most SMS/MMS. In the months of June, July and August alone, Telenor Mobil anticipates that customers will register more than 1.5 billion mobile voice minutes, send close to 600 million text messages, and snap and send 15 million MMS messages.
"Telenor's special summer offers to mobile customers have become a regular feature, and this year, to coincide with the celebrations of Telenor's 150th anniversary, we wanted to do something special." said Director of Division Consumer Market at Telenor, Berit Kjoll.
The most important changes and new offers from Telenor are:
# A 50 per cent reduction on domestic mobile rates between 18:00 to 07:00 on weekdays and around the clock on weekends, for all post-paid customers in the consumer market
# During the summer months, a maximum charge of NOK 1.50 per day will apply for all WAP services
# Free use of MMS on Djuice Nonstop
# Summer offers on thousands of new MMS mobile handsets at NOK 1
# Free-of-charge video calls for 3G users throughout 2005. Users can talk for free on their mobiles if they use the video voice service.
