[SavaJe Technologies' Java Platform, Micro Edition based OS shipping wand announces new handsets in the pipeline including one from GSPDA targeted for Asia.]

Chelmsford, MA -- SavaJe Technologies Inc. announces Release 2.5 of SavaJe OS(TM), SavaJe Technologies' Java(TM) Platform, Micro Edition (Java ME) based open operating system, is now shipping to mobile handset manufacturers. First commercial handsets using SavaJe OS will ship into the Asian market in early 2006. In addition, LG Electronics is demonstrating and promoting a handset based on SavaJe OS to operators worldwide, and is ready to mass-produce handsets to operator specifications for delivery in 2006.

SavaJe OS 2.5 is an advanced open operating system for mid tier and high tier handsets, based on Sun Microsystems' Java technology. The product supports immediate deployment of 2.5G GPRS and EDGE-based handsets, as well as development of 3G WCDMA/UTMS-based devices.

Group Sense PDA Limited (GSPDA) and SavaJe Technologies Inc. announced that GSPDA will launch the world's first multimedia feature phone powered by SavaJe OS(TM), SavaJe Technologies' Java(TM) Platform, Micro Edition (Java ME)-based open operating system (OS).

GSPDA's bar handset will feature a 176x220, 256K colour TFT screen, 1.3MPixel camera, video capture, MP3 audio and MP4 video players, Bluetooth, USB 2.0, and an SD memory card for storage of up to 2GB of applications, music, video and pictures.

SavaJe OS allows GSPDA to easily offer operator customizations, while using a common software platform. Using deep theming functionality, SavaJe OS can implement operator-specified applications and menus, as well as colour schemes, sounds, background images and icons that affect both built-in and downloaded applications.

The new handset supports multiple applications simultaneously while consumer-oriented features include support for MIDI and MP3 ring tones, picture and video caller-ID and support for Java ME games and third party applications. Open OS security is addressed by the implementation of OMA-compliant Digital Rights Management (DRM), a secure key store, certificate and policy management.

GSPDA plan to launch an Xplore-branded SavaJe phone in Asia, bundled with a rich and diverse content package. In Europe and the US, Li plans to offer more tailored solutions to operators. He explained: "Without an established brand presence in the European and US markets we plan to support operators by filling gaps in portfolios, where the established brands lack the flexibility to comply with operator requirements."

GSPDA and SavaJe plan to showcase the handset at 3GSM Barcelona in February 2006. Shipments to both European and Asian markets are expected to follow in the second quarter of 2006.
