Posted: 09-Mar-2006 [Source: BenQ Mobile]

[The long awaited P51 supports Bluetooth and USB in addition to integrated WiFi b/g.]

Hanover, Germany -- BenQ Mobile, the new business division of the BenQ Corporation, presents the BenQ-Siemens P51, a high-performance smartphone that fulfils all the requirements of a discerning business user. This cutting-edge technological wizard is the logical extension to BenQ Mobile's portfolio, combining the latest features of high-end technology development, including an integrated GPS module and WLAN.

Based on the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system, this smartphone is the complete communication device for the busy manager who travels widely. Extensively equipped with the entire bandwidth of today's indispensable business functions, this compact all-rounder helps organize the working day more efficiently and more flexibly. Because of the integrated GPS module, the mobile can even be used as a navigation device. Clearly laid out routes are perfectly legible, even in poor light conditions, on the large, brilliant QVGA TFT color display (2.83 inches, 240 x 320 pixels). The BenQ-Siemens P51 will be available with an optional onboard navigation solution.

All connectivity options are covered with the BenQ-Siemens P51. Apart from Bluetooth and USB, this smartphone also has an integrated WLAN interface (WLAN 820.11b/g) to enable the user on the move to surf the Internet and make phone calls via Voice-over-IP using Skype at any hotspot. Working on the road as if in the office - this is no problem using the comprehensive business tools on the new BenQ-Siemens smartphone. The Email Push Service informs the user immediately about newly received messages, enabling fast reaction. Read and edit important documents, including PowerPoint presentations, in the integrated browser or editor. The QWERTY keypad and the touch screen allow convenient data entry with the stylus pen. Moreover, the compact smartphone can even be used as a dictating machine to record verbal notes. All data are synchronized quickly and easily with a PC via the USB DCA-150 data cable using Active-Sync, thus permitting constant up-to-date backup of the appointments, contacts, tasks and other information on the BenQ-Siemens P51.

The lightweight, ergonomically designed Headset Bluetooth Comfort HHB-160/161 that is available as an accessory provides best-quality sound for up to 8 hours of talk time while at the same time leaving hands free during important calls. An SDIO slot lets the smartphone's range of functions be extended even further using compatible SDIO cards - for example to include a digital TV tuner or a scanner.

Good entertainment on the move is provided by a broad selection of high-technology multimedia functions. The BenQ-Siemens P51 is equipped with a music player (MP3, AAC, AAC+) with equalizer and 3D surround sound. Optimum sound quality and convenience without cables are guaranteed by the Headset Bluetooth Stereo HHS-195, which is available as an original accessory. Day or night, the integrated 1.3 megapixel camera with LED photolight will take spontaneous snapshots. It can even be used easily to shoot short video sequences and replay them on the media player (H264, MPEG4).

With the P51, BenQ Mobile expands its product portfolio towards high-end multimedia devices geared to demanding professional users. The BenQ-Siemens P51 will come on the market in July 2006 in the color "Silver." Prices will be determined locally.
