Melbourne, FL -- AuthenTec, the world’s leading provider of fingerprint sensors and solutions, today announced that Fujitsu’s new FOMA F906i ultra-thin world phone has integrated an AuthenTec fingerprint sensor for Power of Touch® features including security, convenience, personalization and navigation. The FOMA F906i is the 16th Fujitsu cell phone to integrate AuthenTec’s award-winning TruePrint® technology and is the first Fujitsu phone to offer TrueNav™, allowing users a full 360 degrees of browser, menu and document navigation via AuthenTec’s integrated AES1710 fingerprint sensor.

The feature-rich F906i, recently offered to subscribers of Japan’s leading wireless carrier NTT DOCOMO, utilizes AuthenTec’s new small form factor AES1710 low power fingerprint sensor. While millions of NTT DOCOMO’s mobile phones have incorporated an AuthenTec sensor to authorize contactless mobile payments and for protecting access to stored files and the user’s personal information, this is the first time a Fujitsu phone has added the benefits of AuthenTec’s TrueNav technology.

“We are pleased to collaborate with longtime Fujitsu supplier AuthenTec on this new feature-rich smart phone that can be used virtually anywhere in the world and is enhanced by the addition of an AuthenTec fingerprint sensor," said Katsumi Takada, deputy general manager for the Mobile Phone Group of Fujitsu Limited. "AuthenTec not only brings convenient fingerprint security to our new FOMA F906i but also helps enable new user features including fluid, touchpad-like navigation and personalization of the device."

"Fujitsu continues to build on its market leadership with the addition of the F906i to its world phone lineup, and we’re pleased to support the Fujitsu and NTT DOCOMO teams on the launch of this innovative smart phone," said Kengo Kobayashi, president of AuthenTec KK - Japan. "AuthenTec helps further enhance the F906i by enabling full touchpad emulation via our AES1710 sensor, thus providing highly intuitive and accurate on-screen menu navigation. Our integrated TrueNav feature gives users a full range of device navigation by moving their finger across the surface of the sensor to control a full-featured browser, manipulate documents, stored files, contact lists and to control a variety of phone functions."

The F906i features 3G/GSM international roaming, GPS map navigation, HSDPA, "One-Segment" mobile TV, DCMX® mobile credit card and iD™ mobile credit payments, full wide VGA LCD screen. The F906i also features two cameras (3.2 megapixel and 320 kilopixel) and enables access to diverse video content and services, including DOCOMO's Music & Video Channel which provides more than 100 channels of downloadable broadcasts spanning 14 genres.

AuthenTec’s AES1710 fingerprint sensor is based on the Company’s patented TruePrint technology, which reads below the surface of the skin to the live layer where a person's true fingerprint resides. This unique subsurface approach enables AuthenTec sensors to read virtually every fingerprint, every time -- a critical requirement in any fingerprint-enabled device. Other device features include TrueNav menu navigation, TrueFinger anti-spoofing security, and TrueMatch pattern matching to ensure the industry's highest level of security, usability and convenience.
