Cincinnati Bell Wireless Introduces First-Ever Smart Device Family Rate Plan

[Cincinnati Bell announces a competitive voice, unlimited data and text messaging plan designed to appeal to smartphone users--without the need to sign a multi-year contract.]

Cincinnati -- Cincinnati Bell Inc. announced a new Smart Phone Family Plan, whereby customers can save on additional premium data plans when there are two or more smart-device users in the family.

Cincinnati Bell is the first wireless carrier to offer a Family Plan designed to accommodate the growing use of smart devices, like BlackBerry.

“Staying connected via text, email and the Internet with a smart phone has evolved from the traditional business customer to the everyday family member. Family members also want the added functionality of GPS navigation, social networking, calendar synchronization, music and digital photos – all made possible on a smart phone,” said Tim Bracken, director of consumer wireless at Cincinnati Bell. “Our new Smart Phone Family Plan provides the functionality that customers want at an unparalleled value.”

The Cincinnati Bell Smart Phone Family Plan combines a standard voice plan, unlimited data and text messaging options for all family plan users in an affordable and customizable package plan. The unlimited data plan is at $30 a month for the first user plus $15 a month for each additional user. Each user can add unlimited texting for $5 a month. Consequently, a family of three can save approximately $75 a month1 – or $900 annually – with the Cincinnati Bell Smart Phone Family Plan compared to similar services from national carriers. In addition to these savings, Cincinnati Bell offers its customers the peace of mind that comes from not having to sign a multi-year contract.

1Savings based on smart device rate plan information from AT&T and Verizon Wireless as of Sept. 1, 2008.
