San Jose, CA -- NETGEAR®, Inc. (NASDAQGM: NTGR - News), a global networking company that delivers innovative products to consumers, businesses and service providers, today announced that the NETGEAR MVBR1210C HSPA+ Mobile Broadband Voice Router, developed with Sierra Wireless™, a provider of industry-leading mobile computing and machine-to-machine communications products and solutions, is now ready for immediate deployment in operator networks. The NETGEAR MVBR1210C extends mobile voice service via its wired voice port, allowing mobile operators to deliver a compelling voice and data service offering to consumers by eliminating the need for fixed line voice service.

In addition to voice, the NETGEAR MVBR1210C delivers broadband access at speeds up to 21 Mbps downstream and 5.7 Mbps upstream, rivaling fixed broadband access performance. The NETGEAR MVBR1210C integrates a secondary Ethernet WAN to provide failover and back-up for network access. For LAN connectivity, there are four Ethernet ports and high speed N300 802.11n WiFi.

"We are pleased to partner with Sierra Wireless, a world-class mobile technology leader, to integrate voice and high-speed wireless capabilities into our mobile broadband routers," said Patrick Lo, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at NETGEAR. "The availability of the NETGEAR MVBR1210C represents an important milestone in extending mobile voice services into the home."

The NETGEAR MVBR1210C, which powers a complete in-home triple play network, incorporates Sierra Wireless 3G mobile broadband technology. NETGEAR has partnered with Sierra Wireless to deliver a high-performance, cost-effective and mobile broadband router because Sierra Wireless technology allows seamless integration of the MVBR1210C with deployed mobile broadband network infrastructures.

"The NETGEAR MVBR1210C is an important milestone in our long-standing collaboration with NETGEAR," said Jason Cohenour, Chief Executive Officer at Sierra Wireless. "With field-proven leadership in mobile networking technology, NETGEAR continues to innovate and expand its mobile CPE portfolio. We are excited to be playing a critical role in this development."

"The NETGEAR MVBR1210C fulfills the mobile industry's long-envisioned conversion of voice services to principally mobile," noted Patrick Lo. "This enables mobile operators to consolidate their voice service penetration by extending 'mobile-to-mobile' calling to home phones. With the integration of TR-69 remote management capability, this solution truly offers a complete, managed user experience."
